Aquaman's Jason Momoa to Star in Apple's New Sci-Fi Series Free

If you're familiar with Jason Momoa, a few words usually pop up when thinking about the actor; beefy, handsome, but most notable of all, warrior. From Game of Thrones to Conan the Barbarian, and even Justice League, Momoa reeks of a savage warrior with a weapon. This is why it's not too surprising to know that he was cast as a "fearless warrior" for Apple's new sci-fi series Free.

Variety confirmed that he will be a character named Baba Voss, who has been described as a fearless warrior, leader, and guardian. Momoa has pulled off all those roles in his previous works so how this iteration of that character differentiates itself from the rest is a question many will ask.

Free is written by Steven Knight, who will act as a producer for the Apple series. Apparently, it will be some sort of world-building epic set in the future, which means we can see Momoa using weapons that aren't a sword or trident. Then again, we don't know what kind of future this will be so who knows?

Despite the disappointment of the Justice League movie, Momoa is a pretty big name for Apple to get. Whether fans know him as Khal Drogo or Aquaman, they might tune in to Free just to see him stab things.
