Aquaman’s Amber Heard Jumpstarts Training to be Queen Mera

The folks involved in the DC films all seem busy training to fulfill their respective counterparts. Just recently, Joe Manganiello revealed that he has not only read up on the comics featuring Deathstroke, but he's also started training with a katana and some offensive martial arts for The Batman movie.

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has been seen hitting his workouts for the role as well. And now apparently, his Queen in the film, played by Amber Heard, is also delivering some punches, all ready to fulfill the role of Queen Mera.

A short video from @ReelFada shows off Amber in the gym and doling out punches to the camera. Heard isn't alone on the set, as the gym also shows glimpses of other stunt actors in the background.

The training is the first step towards the production for James Wan's film. Based on the kind of training that Momoa is going through, Aquaman may have a lot of combat scenes, something I would appreciate, considering who the King of Atlantis is.

Momoa will first be seen in the ensemble movie Justice League, where we're supposed to get the first real glimpse of Arthur Curry (that email file in BvS definitely doesn't count).

Justice League will be out on Nov. 16. The standalone movie for Aquaman will hit theaters on Oct. 5, 2018.

Guess who's coming back for the Ant-Man sequel?
