Aquaman: Arthur Curry And Mera Come Together In First Photos From The Set

Justice League is currently in post-production, but the DC train just keeps chugging with Jason Momoa and Amber Heard working on the set of Aquaman in Australia. Thanks to JustJared, we get some first images of Aquaman and Mera coming together on set.

Check out the tweet:

No doubt, Heard looks absolutely gorgeous in her costume, but personally, I was thinking that they should've embraced the entire South Pacific theme for Atlantis. Momoa is Hawaiian, and he has said that he feels like he fits the role because he grew up on stories of Maui (The Demi-god from Disney's Moana); even Arthur Curry's father is being played by Temuera Morrison, a New Zealand native (who coincidentally also voiced Moana's father in the movie). It's just me, but I think it would've made sense to have Mera be played by someone from the South Pacific as well.

Then again, maybe the movie explains why the Atlanteans have mixed ethnicities among them. I'm just really nitpicking, honestly. If the story is great and the execution is good, you know I'll be singing the movie its praises.

Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.

Aquaman hits theaters Dec. 21, 2018.
