It looks like Anthony Mackie's hoping that Falcon gets a classic comic look when he appears in Avengers 4.
Earth's mightiest heroes are preparing to face the planet's greatest threat in Avengers: Infinity War, and Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) have been getting a few customized looks as they prepare to enter what might be the hardest fight of their lives in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie event.
Mackie wants to do the same, hoping that Falcon gets to wear his signature comic book look in Avengers 4. The Marvel star recently spoke with Marvel fans at this year's ACE Comic-Con last weekend (via Screen Rant), and during the panel, the actor expressed interest in wearing Falcon's red-and-white costume on the big screen.
"I'm pushing for it, I'm pushing for it, I've been pushing for spandex for eight years, they won't give it to me."
According to Mackie, the Avengers are trying their best to find their footing after Civil War, however it seems like things are shaking up again with Thanos coming down to look for the Infinity Stones.
"Coming off such a huge battle that these characters are coming off of, everybody's trying to find their footing again. Everybody's trying to figure out where they are and how they'll be accepted and looked upon, not only by the rest of the world but by the other heroes since we've been separated. So that's kind the overall idea of where we're coming from and how do we get out of that to save the world."
While it's likely that Mackie might not get Falcon's classic look, where also excited to see what kind of upgrades Tony Stark has for the hero.
Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas May 4, 2018. Its sequel, Avengers 4, premieres on May 3, 2019.
