Ant-Man Star Paul Rudd Calls Avengers: Endgame’s 'Thanus' Theory Missed Opportunity

Avengers: Endgame sparked a whole lot of speculation from fans, and one of the most popular theories that ran up and down the mill online was how Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) could put an end to Thanos (Josh Brolin) by going right into the Mad Titan's anus, and then transforming into Giant-Man.

It turns out Rudd was gunning for "Thanus" too. Speaking in a recent appearance on the Hot Ones web series, Rudd was asked about the popular Ant-Man theory that circled the internet before the release of Endgame, and the actor couldn't help but feel disappointed that Scott Lang never really got the chance to kill off Thanos by crawling inside his butt and then expanding into a giant.

"I consider it a lost opportunity," Rudd told the web series' host.

It's a hilarious theory that gained traction after fans learned that Ant-Man would play an essential role in Endgame. The "Thanus" theory became so popular that a petition was spread around a few months leading up to the film's release asking for Joe and Anthony Russo to turn the whole NSFW scene into a reality.

It's such a shame that the directors never really added a "Thanus" scene as bonus footage of Endgame. The directors do wish that they thought of the theory though, saying that they loved how fans really think deeply about characters like Thanos and Ant-Man.

How about you? Do you think "Thanus" is a missed opportunity? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Avengers: Endgame is currently available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
