Animal Crossing Helps Muslims Celebrate Eid During These Hard Times

COVID-19 has really made it impossible for people to gather around. This is especially difficult during a birthday or holiday since that's the best time to hang out with other people. It's a good thing that Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out when it did then since this has allowed people to socialize and interact since most people are locked up at home. It's especially great for Muslims right now since the game has given them a chance to celebrate Eid.

On social media (thanks Destructoid), Muslim fans have been showing how they celebrate Eid with this great Nintendo Switch title. It's honestly heartwarming to see how people managed to come together, despite COVID-19 making things worse for everybody. While I'm personally not a fan of the gameplay, the fact that it's made many people happy and has given them a way to connect to their loved ones is just fantastic.

For those unaware, Eid al-Fitr is the Muslim holiday that follows the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims spend a whole month fasting so they can become more spiritual. It's something that's usually done with friends and family so COVID-19 has made this holiday harder for everyone, only for Animal Crossing to give them a way to celebrate this holiday in an adorable way.

If you haven't yet, you can pick up Animal Crossing: New Horizons right now on the Nintendo Switch. It has gotten a lot of positive reviews and is proof that you don't need violence to have fun in the world of video games.
