It's been quite a while since the Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds and The Amazing Spider-Man's Andrew Garfield shared that controversial kiss at the Golden Globe ceremony last month, however the real story behind the kiss has just come out very recently after Garfield went on television for an interview.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show on Friday about the spotlight stealing kiss he shared with Reynolds at this year's Golden Globe Awards, Garfield revealed that the little smooch was more planned than it was spontaneous.
"I said to Ryan Reynolds ‘If you win, kiss me instead of your wife,'" the former Marvel superhero explained. "He said, ‘Yeah, that's great.' And the plan was that he would kind of move towards his wife, and then kind of last minute lean in to it. And then he didn't win, much to our disappointment, so I said to Ryan, ‘We can still just do it if we want'. And he was game."

This is a very different explanation from the one Garfield gave Stephen Colbert on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last month, and in that one he gave the show host a really convincing smooch as well. Though it turns out that the kiss was planned, Reynolds and Garfield's little Golden Globe affair sure stole the thunder from Ryan Gosling who won the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role in La La Land.
