Amber Midthunder Joins Cast of X-Men TV Series ‘Legion’

There's a new Marvel TV series coming to town. Titled Legion, the new X-Men universe TV series is created by Noah Hawley (Fargo), Marvel TV and FX Prods. The showrunner of Legion is Fargo creator Noah Hawley.

The latest news with casting is that Bansheeactress Amber Midthunder is set to join the project, according to Deadline. She'll be joining Dan Stevens (Downtown Abbey) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation).

Legion is based on the Marvel comics character of the same name. David Haller/Legion, to be played by Stevens, is a powerful mutant and the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier. He has different personalities that can control different mutant gifts.

David, who is a diagnosed schizophrenic, is about to give up on his affliction when he suddenly finds hope in the girl of his dreams. David will later have to consider come to terms with the possibility that the visions and voices inside his head could be real after all.

Kerry, to be played by Midthunder, is David's dream girl. Kerry is a fellow patient of David's and has a childlike sense of wonder about the world. She is a true savant who has lived a sheltered albeit colorful life.

I must say I'm quite excited to see this new Marvel series. Considering the success that Jessica Jones and Daredevil has had, it won't be hard to imagine Legion to be another rocking Marvel series.

Legion will begin production in March.
