Alien Covenant Poster Is A Twisted Mural Of Horror

Check out this cool new poster for Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. Tell you the truth, it's one of the most stylistic movie posters I've seen in a while, and it looks like some kind of twisted stone mural.

The image features a ton of Xenomorphs with a couple of humans mixed in. Most of the humans have the facehuggers on their heads, and on the background you'll notice what looks to be the head pattern of the Alien Queen.

With all recent movie posters usually just featuring the ensemble cast looking away into the distance, this poster for Alien: Covenant knew exactly who the audience was looking for — freakin' Xenomorphs.

After the lukewarm reception of Prometheus — which tried to steer away from the Alien franchise — it looks like Scott is now fully embracing the concept of facehuggers and Xenomorphs again with Covenant.

Originally Prometheus was going to be a straight-up prequel to the original Alien, but for some reason, the producers thought that it could be its own independent thing with just a few nods to Alien here and there — leading to some very annoying plot holes.

Well it looks like Alien: Covenant is going to bring the franchise back, and invigorate it just like James Cameron did with Aliens in 1986.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Alien: Covenant comes out May 19.
