Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse received mixed reviews. While others thought its story was epic, others thought it was the worst X-Men film ever created. Despite the conflicting views, one of the best aspects of the film is how it introduced the young mutants, and I thought the new cast members were fantastic at portraying Jean Grey, Jubilee, Cyclops, Nightwing, and Storm, and of course they want to reprise their roles for another X-Men film.
Fox hasn't revealed which characters will return in the upcoming X-Men film, but some of the young actors already expressed their interests in playing their characters again.
Alexandra Shipp, who played Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse, has confirmed that she would like to return in a new X-Men film. Shipp told Screenrant about details she hopes to see in Storm's story arc:
"When you sign on for a franchise, you definitely sign on for that. But it's all whatever Fox wants, Fox gets!" Shipp said. "I'd really love to see Storm coming into her matriarch form. In the last X-Men, she was very young and she had a different viewpoint. I'd love to see her take on more of a substantial role and really see her come into her own. I want to show how Halle [Berry] got there. And to do that, I think we just need to show that evolution. And I'm all about a good character arc."
Shipp also expressed her interest in seeing her character interact with Deadpool's Negasonic Teenage Warhead in a film.
"The only thing is there's like 30 years between our storylines," Shipp said. "You know the brand's going to find a way to make it all merge into one some day. That would be really awesome. That'd be really fun to fight each other or fight a villain of some sort together. But who knows."
Would you like to see Shipp reprise her X-Men role in a new film?
