Netflix may have decided against renewing Sense8 after it ran its second season, however it seems like the popular science fiction drama is being offered another chance at releasing a third season.

According to a report by CraveOnline, adult website xHamster president Alex Hawkins has just recently released a letter to Sense8 creators Lana and Laurence Wachwoski, offering to produce the third season of the series. Appealing to the pro-LGBT values of the filmmakers, the letter says that Hawkins is willing to spend the entire production budget of xHamster on Sense8 because he wants to support the cause.

"We also have the disposition. We know that a series about polymorphous perversity is a hard sell for a mainstream network like Netflix. We have no such limitations, and also understand implicitly the interconnectedness of sexualities across boundaries… xHamster has a long history of fighting for the rights of sexual speech, and non-normative sexuality… in addition to allowing billions of users to to connect with individual articulations of gender and sexuality, we continue to use our audience to speak up against repressive anti-LGBTQ laws in the US and abroad, and for sex ed in public schools Planned Parenthood and the rights of sex workers."

While it's exciting to think that Sense8 might be getting a third season after being cut off from Netflix, there's no guarantee that this offer from xHamster will come into fruition. Even if the site is being honest about sharing ideals with the cult series, "public offers" by pornography companies often turn out to be publicity stunts to help the site gain more viewers. It's best not to get your hopes up just yet.

Sense8 will drop a two-hour series finale special on Netflix sometime in 2018.
