It looks like Powerless is getting a classic Batman star to make an appearance in the NBC comedy.
Though so many were expecting a bigger start for the DC comedy, Powerless premiered with lower ratings than the network had hoped for.
While the series continues to win more viewers over with its quirky take on the DC universe, NBC is decidedly pulling out some of the big guns by bringing in Adam West, the Batman star from the 1960's to guest star in one of the series' upcoming episodes. According to the network's announcement (via ScreenRant) West will play the role of Dean Wayne, another possible relative of Bruce Wayne who's chairman of the Wayne Industries board.
Here's the synopsis for the episode:
Following an attack on Gotham City, Wayne Industries has to make some cuts and Mr. West visits Charm City to deliver the bad news to Van and Emily. Will the dynamic duo of Van and Emily be able to save the team at Wayne Security, or are our Charm City Heroes destined for the unemployment line?
It makes perfect sense for West to pop in the series – not only has the Hollywood giant provided a voiceover for a Powerless promo, he's also part of Batman history, deepening the series link to the DC Universe. Though there's no word on when the episode airs, it's definitely going to be a fun one with Adam West around.
Powerless airs Cold Season on Thursday, March 8 at 8:30 pm on NBC.
