Despite the fact that the Star Wars franchise's movie slate has been plagued with several delays and cancelations, things are still looking quite promising for the beloved science fiction epic, especially after news surfaced that the next big-screen outing is already in the works.
Now, in case you haven't heard yet, the next Star Wars film is said to be set post-sequel trilogy, although it remains unclear if familiar faces from the polarizing Episodes VII, VIII, and IX will make appearances in the upcoming project. Well, a new rumor seems to shed light on Lucasfilm's plans for the film and it will reportedly feature the return of one surprising character.
According to a new scoop from Giant Freakin Robot, Adam Driver will reprise his role as Kylo Ren in Damon Lindelof and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's upcoming film. The outlet's source claims that Driver will play a Force ghost version of Kylo which seems to suggest that the project will take place at least 10 years after The Rise of Skywalker.

Meanwhile, Daisy Ridley sparked speculation last week after revealing that she was at Lucasfilm's headquarters. While the Rey actress confirmed that she was there for a lunch meeting, presumably with the production company's top executives, she quickly dismissed the idea of her returning to a galaxy far, far away.
Of course, considering the level of secrecy that goes into Star Wars projects, we can safely assume that Daisy is just trying her best to play coy and avoid dishing out early spoilers. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Lucasfilm's actual plans are.
