Action-Packed New Trailer For Netflix's Cyberpunk Series Altered Carbon

There's an exciting new cyberpunk series coming to Netflix next month, and it's called Altered Carbon, which is based on Richard K. Morgan's 2002 award-winning sci-fi novel. Compared to previous trailers, this one shows us more about the film's story.

The trailer offers a glimpse of the technology used to transfer consciousness into "sleeves" or human vessels to prolong life. This one centers on Takeshi Kovacs (Will Yun Lee), a Japanese-American whose consciousness is transferred into the body of a Caucasian man (Joel Kinnaman) hundreds of years into the future and resurrected back to solve the murder of a wealthy mogul. This trailer also shows more action-packed footage and cyberpunk aesthetics. There's a lot of enticing images but none of the action sequences shown here blew me away.

You gotta applaud Netflix for the amount of quality fantasy and science fiction originals they're streaming.

Synopsis:

Consciousness can be digitized, human bodies are interchangeable and death is no longer permanent… Altered Carbon is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Takeshi Kovacs (Suicide Squad‘s Joel Kinnaman) is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. His mind was imprisoned, "on ice", for centuries until Laurens Bancroftm (Hap and Leonard‘s James Purefoy), an impossibly wealthy, long-lived man, offers Kovacs the chance to live again. In exchange, Kovacs has to solve a murder … that of Bancroft himself.
