50 Cent Wants To Direct A Marvel Movie Since 'Power' Can't Afford Him Anymore

Rapper 50 Cent finally made his debut as a director on the latest episode of Power titled "Forgot About Dre" which aired last Sunday on STARZ.

He has been making a name for himself, showing what other things he is capable of through television and film besides being a popular and iconic rapper.

After the episode aired, the rapper took his thoughts to Instagram, joking about how he is now a big shot director and that STARZ wouldn't be able to afford to pay him on doing another episode of Power. He stated, "I think I'll do the next Marvel movie," that is if it "doesn't require too much" of his time. Ending his Instagram post with the word "LOL" to obviously state that the rapper is only joking about the matter.

In contrast with 50 Cent's Instagram post, he is very passionate and serious about his work. He also stated that he makes it a point to get the actors to have fun while on set. In a recent interview with TVLine, he mentions that since he has been working with talents that have played the characters for five years, the actors could easily "articulate what you're trying to see from the character" which result to the actors easily conveying that specific character for the audience. He mentions that he has such "good morale with the crew behind the cameras" and that he makes it his "business" to make sure they have a "good time".

With that said, if Marvel movies "didn't take too much of his time", it is possible that 50 Cent would be clapping the slate of movies in the future considering that Marvel Studios is very open to hiring filmmakers since they have such "unconventional choices." Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has often chosen rising talents for projects such as handing over Captain America: The Winter Soldier to directors Anthony and Joe Russo who eventually directed Avengers: Endgame which resulted to huge success.

Personally, I would be interested in seeing what kind of storyline a rapper like 50 Cent would be doing. Nonetheless, it would surely be a surprise to everyone.

New episodes of Power every Sunday on STARZ.
