Warner Bros has already started marketing for the highly-anticipated movie Wonder Woman 1984. The film will see Diana Prince face two villains: Maxwell Lord and Cheetah. Focusing on the latter character, though actress Kristen Wiig looks to be a perfect fit for the role, it turns out that she knew very little about her character before being cast for the film.

"I did not really know so much about Cheetah," Wiig told Entertainment Weekly. "Before I even talked to Patty [Jenkins], there was an idea that maybe it might be about being a villain for the movie," the actress then went online and looked up all of Wonder Woman's foes to "try to figure out which one" because she was "so excited." Upon learning that she'll play Cheetah, Wiig says she was "really, really happy to find out it was her."

"I've never really played someone who walks into the room and owns it," she continued. "Especially when she starts out so insecure and self-deprecating." Wiig is basically playing two different characters because of Cheetah's contrasting personalities. "We didn't want to see Barbara in Cheetah, and I didn't want to see Kristen in Cheetah, either," she added.

That being said, Jenkins didn't have any doubt that Wiig was right for the part. "In the lore, Cheetah is often someone who's friends with Diana but jealous of her," she said. "And I feel like Kristen's playing a character who's both ends of the spectrum." Jenkins says Wiig is that "warm, funny friend who's kind and interesting and then can transform into something completely different."
