On the surface, Queen of Tears might seem like just another romance K-drama following the story of a chaebol family. But once you get to watch more episodes, there's more to it than romance. Is the chaebol family evil in Queen of Tears? Here's what we know so far.

Who is the Chaebol Family in Queen of Tears?
The chaebol family in Queen of Tears are the Hongs. They own the Queens group of companies, which includes a luxury department store manned by Hong Hae-In (played by Kim Ji-Won).
The company, of course, was built by the patriarch, Hong Man-Dee (played by Kim Kap-Soo). His son, Hong Beom-Jun (played by Jung Jin-Young), is the father of Hae-In.

Is the Chaebol Family Evil in Queen of Tears?
Like most K-dramas with chaebol families, there's bound to be one family member who's evil. So is the chaebol family evil in Queen of Tears?
When the show started, fans were teased about the possibility of a crazy aunt in Hong Beom-Ja (played by Kim Jung-Nan). But as more episodes got released, fans couldn't help but think there's more to the in-laws in the family.
Moreover, fans can't help but think that the Hongs are actually a gullible family despite their massive fortune and close security detail.

Who Fans Think Are the Real Villain/s in Queen of Tears
In fact, Beom-Ja might be on to something. She might have a reason why she hates her father's girlfriend, Moh Seul-Hee(played by Lee Mi-Sook), so much.
And it looks like she's not the only one. Avid fans are speculating that the Hong family has been infiltrated by the real villains in the show, Seul-Hee and Hong Soo-Cheol's (played by Dong-Yeun) wife, Cheon Da-Hye (played by Lee Joo-Bin).
Grace Go (played by Kim Joo-Ryung), one of the family's trusted employees, might have a hand in introducing the Hong family to the villains of the show.
This explains why she's determined to encourage Baek Hyun-Woo (played by Kim Soo-Hyun) to divorce Hae-In so the latter could finally be with Yoon Eun-Sung (played by Park Sung-Hoon).
At this point, we don't know yet who the real villains are and what their goal is. But we're hoping Hyun-Woo uncovers their secret soon.
