Do Halina and Adam End Up Together in We Were the Lucky Ones?
Based on one of New York's Bestselling novels, We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter, the novel records a Polish Jewish family's journey when separated throughout World War II.
However, apart from the Kurc family members, the series also spotlights Halina Kurc (played by Joey King) and Adam Eichenwald's (played by Sam Woolf) developing relationship.
The first meeting between Halina and Adam was not exactly an instant spark of romance.
Halina had something else planned for her life, and she initially thought that a 31-year-old like Adam would be the kind of man who would settle for marriage. Something she wasn't interested in at the beginning.
Their progression into their blooming romance wasn't perfect.
However, considering they were both working in their own way to help their family and friends, with Adam making fake IDs and finding places where Jews could hide, they were heading in the right direction with each other.
They eventually got married and had a son together.

Are Halina Kurc and Adam Eichenwald Based on a True Love Story?
Viewers of the series would be glad to know that We Were the Lucky Ones series is based on true events, written by none other than Georgia Hunter and the experience of her own family during World War II.
In this case, Halina Kurc is the author's grandmother, making Adam Eichenwald a part of their family, as well.
The only difference is even though the Kurcs survived the war, Adam's family didn't.
As Woolf himself recently told Hey Alma, he knew he had big shoes to fill when he was called in to take the role.
"When we were there, my mom said, 'This wasn't your story. But it could have been.'" Woolf said, "That really stuck with me."
