SAND LAND has ended with its 13th episode which aired today. With the show finally ending, the question is if SAND LAND Season 2 will be produced.
There’s no official announcement yet, though some fans think there’s a chance the show will get a new season. After all, the series has seen a big push recently, starting with the anime film and followed by the TV series.
SAND LAND Anime Concludes With Episode 13
The SAND LAND anime is based on Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s short manga serial for Shonen Jump back in 2000.
Even though it has been a long time since the manga was serialized, the series became popular again thanks to the anime film adaptation produced by Sunrise.
This film followed the story of the manga, meaning it’s easy to understand even for those who haven’t read the original. If the new movie wasn’t enough though, the film was also made into a TV series complete with new content.
Officially titled SAND LAND: The Series, the show’s first six episodes are basically the movie cut into six parts. Meanwhile, episodes 7 to 13 feature a brand-new story.
The show’s first seven episodes premiered on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ internationally on March 20, 2024. Each subsequent episode was then released weekly on the said platforms.
Its 13th and final episode was released today, marking the conclusion of the new storyline.

Will There be a SAND LAND Season 2? Our Predictions
There’s no official word yet on a SAND LAND sequel, and it’s tough to predict now what the future will hold after its creator Toriyama passed away on March 1.
Given this, if a new series was to be ordered, a new writer would have to come on board. Coupled with the fact that Toriyama’s passing resulted in an indefinite hiatus for Dragon Ball Super, the chances of a SAND LAND Season 2 are slim.
Even if it does get renewed, it will likely take years before it gets released. In the meantime, fans can at least experience the world again in the recently launched game adaptation.
