Marvel Comics has announced the return of the Infinity Stones in the upcoming Infinity Watch annuals.

The Infinity Stones have become a staple in the Marvel lore for decades now and it even became the focal point during the later part of the Infinity Saga in the MCU.

The Infinity Stones Returns in Infinity Watch

Marvel Comics announced that they are releasing the Infinity Watch annuals this summer season.

Acclaimed writer Derek Landy is penning the crossover while artist Sara Pichelli will help with backup stories in each of the nine annuals. Thanos Annual #1 will be released this June.

The new saga will "follow up on previous Infinity Stone stories with the return of recent bearers including Star, Overtime, Prince of Power, Quantum, and Multitude, as well as introduce you to the new Mind Stone-Bearer for the first time."

Thanos, who is fresh from the recent limited series run by Christopher Cantwell, will begin a "bloody march to claim his dark destiny once more."

Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, Thor, Moon Knight, and Spider-Boy are some of the characters that will be prominently featured in the crossover event.

"When you write for Marvel, it's all you can hope for to add your thread to the massive tapestry of stories that has been unfolding since 1961. To be asked, then, to spearhead this next chapter is a prospect beyond my paltry imagination," Landy said about crafting the story.

"I get to work on characters I've never written before—Thanos! Hulk!—and drag them into the story beside the new generation of heroes like Ms. Marvel and Spider-Boy."

The writer continued, "Thankfully, there is absolutely no pressure because comic fans are a notoriously easy-going bunch who are prepared to forgive if—oh dear God."

More announcements are expected to be made regarding the crossover event in the near future so fans should watch out for any news soon.
