My Hero Academia Season 7 will begin the final battles between the heroes and the villains after the events against the Paranormal Liberation Front in the previous season. But aside from the much-awaited fight between Tomura Shigaraki and Star and Stripe, voice actor Hiro Shimono reveals his character, Dabi, is about to take the reign.

In what could be one of the biggest shakeups in the series, Dabi was revealed to be Shoto’s long-lost brother, Toya. And these two are about to face each other in My Hero Academia Season 7.

Now that Dabi's secret has been revealed, he has posed a bigger threat to the heroes. Shimono teased what fans can expect from this antagonist.

Hiro Shimono Talks About Dabi’s Role in My Hero Academia Season 7

In an interview with AnimateTimes, Shimono revealed that Dabi would unleash his full force after discovering his true identity.

The voice actor gave everything to do justice to the character, even if it meant “breaking his throat” to bring his actions to life.

“After [the ‘Dabi Dance’ scene in Season 6], it was revealed that Dabi is the eldest son of the Todoroki family, but from now on, he will fight against his father and younger brother again,” he said.

The final battle between Dabi and his family is about to begin. However, while Shimono read their original story, he couldn’t help but have several thoughts about it.

He later realised that it would be challenging to play Dabi effectively if he was so concerned about their tale.

“Even if it meant breaking his throat, I was determined to hit him with all my might,” he continued.

Shimono then went to talk about Shoto’s role in My Hero Academia Season 7.

If Dabi was in despair, the artist revealed Shoto had remained hopeful. Hence, he would do his best to defeat his brother with his “determination and honest thoughts.”

That being said, Shimono would like to focus on these siblings' relationships.

In the previous season, Dabi revealed his true self through a pre-corded backstory that Skeptic uploaded and was broadcast globally. The video also included his DNA results, proving he was of Endeavor’s blood.

At the time, Dabi was simultaneously revealing his true identity to his father and brother, Endeavor and Shoto.

Amid believing that his son had already died a long time ago, Endeavor was surprised by this major revelation.

So, in the upcoming new season, Dabi may fulfil his plan to take revenge on his father after being abusive and neglecting him during his childhood.

He, too, aims to kill his family, thinking they have forgotten about him following his so-called death.

My Hero Academia Season 7 will finally premiere on Saturday, May 4, in Japan and will later stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
