As of now, Wonder Woman is the most successful movie in the DCEU. Not only did the film make a ton of money, but it’s the only DC film that critics all unanimously liked. Though some may point the film out to be a simple origin story, Wisecrack on Youtube has actually delved deeper into the film and has found that Wonder Woman’s cause for saving the world sets her apart from everyone else in the movie.

Unlike Captain America or Spider-Man, Wonder Woman actually presents this new ideal of “Care Ethics” which motivates her to help humanity out of “love” and not duty. The film watches Diana change her stance from “helping humanity because it’s her duty” to “helping humanity because she loves them.”
What’s unique is, the movie ends with Diana accepting the possibility that her people aren’t worth saving (hence: “It’s not about ‘deserve’ line), but she wants to save them anyway, because she loves them.
Though the line does seem pretty corny for some, it actually fits the profile of Diana from the comics. If Batman and Superman were all about Justice and Duty, Wonder Woman is a character motivated by love and compassion—and that’s what makes here great.
For now, Warner Bros is working on a sequel with Patty Jenkins set to return, and Wonder Woman 2 is set for a release on Nov. 1, 2019.
