Wisecrack Delves Into The Philosophy Of Ghost In The Shell

The Scarlett Johansson-fueled may not have done so well in the box office, but the original anime is still worth checking out. Like Wisecrackalways does, they’ve delved into the philosophy that went behind the anime and analyzed what sets Ghost in the Shell apart from modern sci-fi movies.

It's a bit hard to explain, but Ghost in the Shell is one of those few stories that has a man vs. machine conflict but doesn't end with man defeating machine; instead, both merge into something totally different and transcenedent.

Personally, I have to admit that I’m no expert when it comes to Philosophy, but the themes that went to the anime go so deep and so complicated. It’s a shame that barely any of it went into the live-action adaptation, because out of all the great action setpieces, herein underlies a school of thought that stands out from the rest.

I had no huge problem with Ghost in the Shell when it came out this year, but after watching the video, I could say that the live-action movie actually comes out a tad disappointing this time around. You think the studio will be working on a sequel?
