Wisecrack Delves Into The Philosophy Of Coco

Coco turned out to be a smash hit for Disney Pixar, and the movie has come out to be one of the highest-grossing films in Mexico. Like many other Pixar film, Coco is actually chockfull of philosophy and symbolism, and the guys down in Wisecrack have come up with their quick take on the movie.

Though the movie did look a lot like 2014’s The Book of Life, Coco was on a way more different level when it came to story and execution. Sure both movies had a music-loving protagonist who is transported to the land of the dead, but they have clashing ideologies when it comes to views on Death.

You have to hand it to Pixar for taking a topic like mortality and putting it into a film that’s palatable for young children.  I’ll admit I’ve been disappointed with their latest releases like Finding Dory and Cars 3, but Coco manages to be an emotional rollercoaster of a film.

With Coco, Pixar is once again on top, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the future. Though I do love a nostalgia trip with movies like Incredibles 2, I’d love to see some more original and inventive stories from the studio.

Pixar’s next film, Incredibles 2, is set to come out June 14, 2018.
