Westworld: Side by Side Comparison of Both 'Paint It Black' Heists

[THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS A SPOILER FOR THE WESTWORLD 2 EPISODE ‘AKANE NO MAI’]

Just when you thought Westworld was out of twists, the latest episode Akane no Mai gives us a look at Shogun World. What’s cool is that, the town is literally a Japanese version of Sweetwater, and Maeve runs into the Japanese version of herself, Akane; what’s more, we also get a version of the same heist done by Hector and Armistice, only this time it’s performed by Musashi and Hanaryo.

Besides the reuse of the song Paint it Black, you can see that there are several shots that are recreated for the scene as well. Check it out:

With a show like Westworld, there is always something to analyze from the dialogue to the visuals, and it’s cool how they were able to bring something like this to the second season. No doubt, we’ll probably be getting some bigger reveals down the line, especially with the muddled up timeline that we’re being presented with in the second season.

For now, we don’t know what to expect from the next episode, but we could find out why Ted’s body is found by the people in the latest part of the timeline, as well as what happens to Maeve after she supposedly assimilates an entire Samurai battalion.
