The Power Nine are nine of the most overpowered and most expensive Magic: The Gathering cards printed early in the game's history, but if you're not familiar with the trading card game, you're probably wondering why they cost so much.

In this video by Tech Insider, Sneak Attack Games manager Roy Raftery explains why the Power 9 (The Black Lotus, Ancestral Recall, Time Twister, Time Walk, Mox Pearl, Mox Emerald, Mox Sapphire, Mox Ruby, and Mox Jet) are considered powerful, and why they're worth $27,000. These cards were only printed in Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited sets for a short period from late 1993 to early 1994, so they're part of the game's Reserved List, a list of cards that Wizards of the Coast promised to never reprint to preserve their value. If you've been playing Magic for a while, you probably already know why they cost so much.
