Watch This Rare Video Of Justice League's Jeremy Irons Singing ‘Be Prepared’ For The Lion King

A lot of people may recognize Jeremy Irons now for being the new Alfred Pennyworth of the DCEU, but before that he famously voiced Scar opposite James Earl Jones on Disney’s animated classic, The Lion King. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a clip of Irons recording his lines for Scar’s solo musical act, Be Prepared.

The video also features several other voice actors including Woopie Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Jim Cummings, and James Earl Jones himself. However, we don’t get to see other voice actors in the movie like Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, and Rowan Atkinson.

The video was released to promote The Lion King coming to digital on Aug. 15. No doubt, this is also a tactic to help hype up Disney’s CG-action adaptation of the movie directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book, Iron Man) which is set to come out sometime in 2019.

As for the voice cast of that movie, only James Earl Jones will be returning as Mufasa. New actors have been cast in roles with Donald Glover voicing adult Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, and John Oliver as Zazu. There’s still no casting news for characters like Nala or Scar, however.

Jon Favreau’s version of The Lion King comes out July 19, 2019. Disney’s classic version hits digital on Aug. 15.
