Though reactions for the first teaser were mostly negative, fan response for the latest Venom trailer have been overwhelmingly good. A lot of fans are now onboard with Sony’s spinoff, and Mr. Sunday Movies on Youtube gives us a breakdown of the entire trailer, and what we possibly missed.
For one, we get some more background on Riz Ahmed’s character who is apparently someone from the comics. Now I know Venom best as Spider-Man’s villain, so I admittedly don’t have a great grasp at Venom’s extended world—including the other symbiotes. By the looks of it, the movie is going to introduce us to a whole bunch of hosts, and it will be up to Venom to stop them.
Though it also isn’t shown in the trailers, it’s very possible that we would be getting Carnage somewhere down the line. We don’t know who’ll play him yet, but everyone is almost positive that serial killer Cletus Kasady is going to be played by Woody Harrelson, who is part of the cast, but is yet to be named.
With the film slated to come out in October, we should get some more Venom reveals down the line. I’m just hoping that Sony doesn’t pull a Spider-Man: Homecoming and reveal too much of the plot in the teasers.
