Watch: Luke, Rey, and Kylo Argue About The 2018 Oscar Nominations

With the 2018 Oscar Nominations in, everyone has something to say about the films that had been nominated—now HISHE has given a chance for the Star Wars fanbase to speak out about Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s supposed Oscar snub.

Check it out:

Star Wars: The Last Jedi came out to be one of the most critically acclaimed movies of 2017, but since the movie is Star Wars, it looks like the Oscars decided to overlook everything about the film besides the sound editing/mixing, music, and visual effects.

For one, I thought Mark Hamill and Adam Driver did amazing jobs in the movie, and their performances merited at least a Best Actor nomination. Also, director Rian Johnson had managed to put together such a spectacle of a story that it’s criminal that he didn’t get nominated for Best Director.

With the Oscars the way that they are, it was kind of obvious what movies were going to come out on the list. To any disappointed fan, it just helps to think that the Oscars don’t really dictate what really is a “good” or “memorable” movie; for now the event is just a whole bunch of pandering.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi didn’t get an Oscar nomination, but it will stay with everyone longer than whichever film wins the Oscars this year.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits digital March 13, and Blu-Ray on March 27.
