Watch: Kylo Ren Vs. Luke Skywalker In Glorious 16-Bit

What is Star Wars without a climactic lightsaber duel near the end? Though Kylo was only going against a projection of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, I think the encounter still falls under the category of “lightsaber duel.” Like he did with Vader’s scene from Rogue One,Mr. Sunday Movieshas shared a 16-bit reimagining of Kylo Ren Vs. Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi.

Just in case you’re curious, here’s the 16-bit Vader Rogue One scene:

Though I think that animating the sprites is skillful enough, the videos also do this cool thing where they provide the actual score from the scenes but in chiptune mode. I have a feeling this is going to be a thing when it comes to every Star Wars release, and I’m guessing Mr. Sunday will have something for the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Though I think it’s a shame that we don’t have an actual lightsaber duel in the film, I think the fight with Kylo came with a twist a lot of people didn’t see coming. Though some fans may hate it, I think the movie gave the right send-off for Luke Skywalker—besides, we also got the kick-ass scene with Rey and Kylo versus Snoke’s praetorian guards.

You can still check out Star Wars: The Last Jedi now in theaters.
