The ninth episode of Game of Thrones Season 6, Battle of the Bastards, is a great achievement that rivals some of the most epic battles we've seen in films. The previous behind-the-scenes video focusing on the episode showed us the practical effects that the showruners and director Miguel Sapochnik used for the scene. Now, a new video has been released by lloura (via Sploid) that focuses on incredible work done by the VFX team. How they blend digital enhancements with practical effects is astonishing. I didn't expect a lot of it to be CG, and the fact that it's tough to distinguish the seams makes it one of the most impressive use of visual effects we've seen. Watch:
