Watch: Blade Runner vs. Blade Runner 2049 Shot For Shot Trailer Comparison
After 33 years since the first Blade Runner film was released, we finally got our first look at the sequel when the trailer for Blade Runner 2049 was released last week. It looks like director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) and cinematographer Roger Deakins (Fargo, Shawshank Redemption) did a great job replicating the atmosphere of the original. IMDB released a side-by-side comparison video that shows us the trailer for Blade Runner 2049 and cherry-picked footage from Ridley Scott's 1982 film. It's incredible how the new film brings back memorable visuals from the first. Watch the video below:
Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who's been missing for 30 years.
Blade Runner 2049 is set to release in theaters on October 6, 2017.
