Thor: Ragnarok Deleted Scene has Banner and Thor Watching Weird Grandmaster Holograms

There are a lot of things to like about Thor: Ragnarok, and one of them was the terrifically quirky Jeff Goldblum playing the antagonist Grandmaster. As it turns out, there’s a deleted scene between Thor and Bruce Banner that would have them watching weird Grandmaster holograms on their way to Asgard.

Check it out:

Though Goldblum dancing is funny enough, the holograms get weirder as Grandmaster is ‘fondled’ by some tentacles. It would have been funny to watch, but I think the scene might have been cut for either pacing reasons or the fact that the “tentacle sex” hologram could be too graphic for the kiddies.

Besides that, there’s actually some interesting character development with Banner and Thor where Banner calls Thor Dumbo, as in the elephant with the big ears Disney movie Dumbo. In the film, Dumbo believes he could fly because he’s given a “magic feather” but when he loses it, he discovers that he could fly all by himself and that the feather was just a placebo.

As per Banner, Thor is Dumbo, and Mjolnir was his magic feather. Thor had the powers all along, and Mjolnir wasn’t necessary for him to be able to use them. We all know how things turn out in the film.

Thor: Ragnarok hits digital Feb. 19 and DVD/Blu-Ray on Feb. 26.
