Rey’s Parents Revealed In “Deleted Scene” From Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars fans were shocked when they learned in Star Wars: The Last Jedi that Rey (Daisy Ridley) actually came from a couple of junkers who traded her off for drinking money in Jakku.

So many had hoped that the Force-sensitive Jakku orphan had her lineage tied to legacy characters like Luke (Mark Hamill) or Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness/ Ewan McGregor), after all, like these Jedi, Rey was strong with the Force.  Some have even continued clinging on to the hope that Kylo Ren’s been lying to Rey all this time in hopes of manipulating her so that Episode IX might give the “true” revelation of Rey’s lineage.

Now, playing on this desperation, DavidUngerMusic decided to give away Rey’s parents in his own “deleted scene” taken from the Blu-Ray copy of The Force Awakens sequel.

Check it out down here:

Starting with the last part of the Dark Side cave sequence in The Last Jedi, the scene shows Rey looking into the crystal mirror for her parents. In between the shots, we get to see some commentary from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, giving a bit of legitimacy to the “deleted scene.”

Reaching out to the Dark Side crystal, Rey sees a figure clearing up in the glass, only to find a naked old man singing “please don’t walk away, I will always love you.” It’s the perfect spoof to play with fans still looking for Rey’s “true” parents, though it looks like nineteen people didn’t really appreciate the joke.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD.
