Star Wars Holiday Special Gets Awesome The Force Awakens-Style Trailer

The Star Wars Holiday Special is undoubtedly one of the quirkiest movies in the Star Wars Universe. Although it isn't as thought-provoking as the trilogy films, it still holds a special place in the hearts of fans. Not surprisingly, someone decided that the Holiday Special deserves a new trailer in the style of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

YouTuber Andy Lyth created the trailer that made use of music from the TFA trailer. Check it out below.

It's an awesome trailer indeed and it makes the Holiday Special seem like an interesting film to watch. If anything, it's surprising to be reminded that Bea Arthur once appeared in a Star Wars movie.

The Holiday Special was released back in 1978 following the successful premiere of A New Hope (then simply titled Star Wars). It features Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia Organa, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca. The film introduces Chewbacca's family as well as Boba Fett, who will later appear in The Empire Strikes Back.

It's highly unlikely that we'll get anything similar to the Holiday Special anytime soon. After all, the movie was made back in the 70s. Nevertheless, there will be no shortage of Star Wars movies in the future.

Star Wars: Episode IX might be the final film following the Skywalker Saga but it's hardly the last movie we can look forward to. Rian Johnson already has plans for a new trilogy that would possibly focus on a new generation of Force users.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres on December 20.
