The Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series has had many fans curious about what it could be about and how the series would fill in the time between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. We’ve had some ideas, including a one-shot during Jason Aaron’s Star Wars run but nothing concrete has come from Obi-Wan’s post-prequel trilogy adventures yet. This one fan trailer nails some of the themes fans want to see in an Obi-Wan Kenobi story.

Having Obi-Wan wandering a desert while having nightmares of Anakin turning to the dark side and the death of Padme Amidalla are definitely things we’d want to see in this long-anticipated series. Obi-Wan must have a lot of guilt for not seeing, or choosing to ignore, the darkness that was building inside Anakin and how it has cost the galaxy plenty of lives now that Darth Vader has run rampant.

It’s pretty intriguing for a fan-made trailer and one that clearly has a lot of care put into it. We’re sure that the Disney+ series will have some sort of love and care put into it, along with some heavy-handed fanservice since that’s what Disney loves to do with their Star Wars stories. Plus, some of us really want to know why Obi-Wan and Yoda gave up so easily since we’re sure a second or third counterattack would have gone well.

Plus, Star Wars Rebels makes The Empire look like a complete joke so there’s no way Yoda and Obi-Wan wouldn’t have succeeded. Maybe give us stories that show that since it would add more depth to the world-building and make Darth Vader look even cooler.

No release date for the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been announced.
