The latest trailer for the FX show Legion reveals the premiere date of the series. The first episode of Legion will be airing next year Wednesday, February 8 at 10 P.M. You can watch the trailer below:

The trailer is titled "Evolve". The series follows David Haller, who has been diagnosed as schizophrenic and has been in and out of psychiatric possibles for most of his life. He discovers that he may, in fact, be a mutant with superhuman powers.

Legion is set in an alternate timeline for the Marvel Universe where the existance of mutants isn't widely known. The series was developed by Fargo's Noah Hawley, who serves as executive producer as well as writer director on the first episode. Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, Frankenstein) plays the main character.

The show is based on the 1985 "Legion" character created by Chris Claremont and Bill  Sienkiewicz. The character first appeared in New Mutants #25. In the comics, he had dissociative identity disorder and each personality has a seperate mutant power. He also has a connection to Charles Xavier.

The trailer certainly looks tense and exciting. It remains to be seen how well the character will be handled. Are you looking forward to Legion?
