New Fantastic Trailer For ‘Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children’ Released

20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, and it is every bit as magical as you expect it to be.

While the children are peculiar, the plot isn’t. As noted by Entertainment Weekly, Tim Burton’s new film adaptation of Ransom Riggs’ novel is reminiscent of X-Men. Well, at least concerning the part where a mentor takes a group of young people with superhuman oddities, and who are ostracized by society, under her wing. However, that’s where the similarities end.

Miss Peregrine’s (Eva Green) children may possess peculiar powers, but their abilities are more supernatural than superheroic.

Of course, being ostracized, these children are hunted down by monsters called hollows (Samuel L. Jackson), and Miss Peregrine protects them by keeping them in a time loop (“...a loop preserves the last 24 hours. Reset the loop, and you can stay here forever.”)

What stands out among these peculiar children is a boy named Jake (Asa Butterfield) who doesn’t have any peculiarities aside from the fact that his fate is tied to the school’s.

These children definitely looks like a whole different kind of mutants, and it would be interesting to see how their fate is placed in the hands of a powerless child.

Synopsis:

When Jacob discovers clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children hits theaters on September 30.
