Birds of Prey Honest Trailer Pokes Fun at Harley Quinn's 'Team-Up' Movie

Birds of Prey sees the return of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, who last appeared in the 2016 film Suicide Squad. She is now joined by the all-female group to fight against Ewan McGregor’s Black Mask. In a new honest trailer episode for the film, it pokes fun at Birds of Prey’s lack of team-up action.

Despite being called Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), the movie was quite focused on Robbie’s character with the members of the group laying low. Some fans noticed that the titular group had little to do in the film, particularly, Black Canary and Huntress.

The trailer also tackles the fact that Jared Leto’s Joker wasn’t seen at the end of Suicide Squad after breaking Harley Quinn out of jail and that only a body double of the Clown Prince of Crime was featured in the film. On the other hand, the honest trailer acknowledges Ewan McGregor’s performance in the film, although it did lightly tackle at how the film was tiptoeing around the character’s sexuality.

Cassandra Cain being called “kid” by the characters was also pointed out, as well as poking fun at the movie’s undeveloped supporting characters. However, it also gives credits to its fight scenes and good casting. You can check out the honest trailer for yourself below:

Honest Trailers are always quite brutal with these films but whether fans love or hate Birds of Prey, the movie definitely had the people talking.

Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which is set for release on August 6, 2021.
