Grab some popcorn and get ready to watch Darth Maul: Apprentice, an epic Star Wars fan film written, directed, and produced by Shawn Bu of T740 Productions

To a lot of fans, Darth Maul is the coolest character in the Star Wars prequels. He's the kind of badass villain that many would root for. He's so cool that the Sith warrior is featured in a couple of fan-made battle videos of him fighting Spider-Man and another of him in a lightsaber duel against Talon. Fans want to see Darth Maul get more screentime, so here's a spectacular treat.

This fan film, which took the crew two years to make, is a masterpiece that some fans on YouTube are even calling "better than The Force Awakens". While I don't completely agree to that statement, this 15-minute fan film is definitely one of the best I've seen, and probably deserves to win this year's Star Wars Fan Film Awards. Darth Maul: Apprentice focuses on Darth Maul fighting a group of Jedi, and it features an amazing lightsaber choreography, stellar visual effects, and a story that actually adds complexity to Maul's character. Watch this awesome fan film:

I totally expected Maul to take the female Jedi as his apprentice, but I thought it ended well. Can we get more Darth Maul fan films or official ones? Even actor Ray Park said he would be open to do a Darth Maul standalone film.
