Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop Coming On July 26, Bethesda Gives First Look

Bethesda has announced the release date of the next DLC for Fallout 4, titled Vault-Tec Workshop.

As the name suggests, the DLC will allow fans to build their very own vault. Players of the mobile game tie-in Fallout Shelter will find this to be a very familiar mechanic, because it’s basically the game in a bigger form.

The developer showcases a walkthrough video, seen below. Basically, the point of the DLC is to let players customize their own domains, dress up their vault residents, and give their people some work.

The video shows an extended look at the expansion's gameplay, with Fallout 4 Lead Artist Ryan Sears having this to say about how the Vault-Tec Workshop idea started:

“Vaults are such a big part of the Fallout universe, and we wanted to bring that to workshop. I mean, how cool is it to build your own vault? That was kind of the core idea.”

The creators do recognize that the expansion has its similarities with Fallout Shelter. The trailer is even supposed to be a shout-out to the mobile tie-in.

PC players can already expect a beta access this week, according to Engadget.

PC, PS4 and Xbox One players can expect the new expansion to roll out on July 26.
