Avid followers of the Marvel film franchise are well aware of the fact that A Quiet Place star John Krasinski was oh so close to becoming the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain America but ultimately lost the bet to Chris Evans. Now, several years after the what-if scenario, fans are still wondering what could've been had Krasinski succeeded in becoming our star-spangled hero.

We've seen several stunning artworks in the past depicting the actor-director as Steve Rogers, but this new video takes everything to the next level! A deep fake clip is making the rounds all over social media which puts Krasinski in Evans' place in some of his notable MCU appearances and it's pretty darn impressive! It even has some side-by-side clips of Chris and John for better comparison. You gotta use a little suspension of disbelief though as the video still makes use of Evans' voice. Check it out here:

Although it's quite unfortunate that things didn't go the way Krasinski wanted them to, recent rumors have suggested that The Office star was secretly met with Marvel Studios for a project so I'm guessing there's still hope for him to actually enter the MCU should the rumors end up being true. Nothing has been confirmed yet, of course, but I personally believe that his MCU journey is only about to begin. Who knows, a "fantastic" film project could very well be in his future! *wink wink* It wouldn't hurt to set our expectations high, right?

John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt are set to return for A Quiet Place 2, which has been delayed indefinitely following the COVID-19 outbreak.
