Watch the Final Avengers: Endgame Battle in Glorious 16-Bit

Besides giving us in-depth movie breakdowns and reviews, Mr. Sunday Movies has this fun series of recreating action scenes from films in retro 16-bit. Just in, we have a new video following the final battle between the MCU Trinity and Thanos, right before everyone else comes to fight.

Check it out:

What’s interesting is we also get a breakdown of how the video was made by animator John Stratman. As it turns out, he tried his best to use as much material from the original retro Marvel games from way back when. Marvel vs. Capcom fans will also remember some of the grunts Captain America makes in the video are lifted straight from the Cap in the game.

It’s also cool how the video manages to recreate a lot of the original music from the scene into the 16-bit version. If Marvel Studios can catch wind of this, maybe they’d even release a full retro video game that we can all play.

I honestly have zero experience when it comes to animation, and it’s fun to find out a little bit about the process of these 16-bit videos. Besides re-animating Marvel scenes, Stratman has also worked on things like Star Wars, and he doesn’t just do scenes, but sometimes 16-bit recreations of trailers.

For now, Avengers: Endgame is set for a re-release next weekend. The movie is said to have additional footage and is aiming to get Endgame past Avatar’s number one spot as highest earning movie at the box office. Let’s hope it works.

Catch the re-release of Avengers: Endgame when it comes out June 28.
