Watch The Lighthouse Edited Like a Spongebob Episode

While it may be a while before we can catch Robert Pattinson in The Batman, he’s recently starred in something that’s dark and grim called The Lighthouse. The movie is exceptionally weird and disturbing, and for some reason, someone thought it was a great idea to have the film edited like a Spongebob Squarepants episode.

This comes from Pepe Rico Pique on Youtube:

Admittedly there aren’t that many words used for the video, but Willem Dafoe’s character perfectly stands in for someone like Mr. Krabs. You also have to love the use of bubble transitions as well as the familiar motifs that you can naturally spot in any classic Spongebob episode.

As for the movie itself, The Lighthouse was known to very disturbing and confusing, and Wisecrack had even attempted to try and explain whether the film was Deep or Dumb:

I have to say, while Pattinson had gotten mainstream fame from Twilight, he had spent the past few years successfully shedding off his pretty boy image with films like The Lighthouse. I really have to commend his dedication for the art, and I can’t wait to see what he has to bring to the character of Batman.

Just in case you want to check out The Lighthouse, here’s the synopsis:

Two lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.

Catch Pattinson as the Caped Crusader when The Batman hits theaters on Oct. 1, 2021.
