I totally forgot that Castlevania was coming to Netflix by the end of the week, and Smosh Games has released a new Honest Game trailer for the series to prepare us for the new show.
“Experience the eternal grudge match that is everyone versus Dracula as you inhabit the many colorful protaginists of Castlevania, from the tiny shorts-wearing vampire slayers of the Belmont family, to Dracula’s son Alucard, who’s mainly in it to work out his daddy issues.”
You really have to appreciate just how much the franchise has grown over the years, then again, nothing beats classic platformer games where players go from dungeon to dungeon slaying gigantic monsters. The formula works for this game, and it also does from classic series like Metroid, Mega Man, and Metal Slug.
Here’s the series synopsis:
Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself.
Anyone who follows pop culture will know that series or movies that are based on video games never work out like we hope, but hopefully Castlevania is able to break the mold. It’s said that creator Adi Shankar is also interested in making an Assassin’s Creedseries. Good luck with that, I guess.
Castlevania comes out on Netflix July 7.
