A lot of Batman fans started raving over the new trailer for Joker, and some have been claiming that this will be the best iteration of the character since Heath Ledger’s in The Dark Knight. Now Absolute Trailers on Youtube has come up with this trailer for TDK only in the style of 2019’s Joker.

Admittedly, there are some cuts that I would have preferred changed, but as a whole, the trailer is pretty fun. I guess it does kind of make you realize that though the Joker is the main villain of The Dark Knight, we barely get to see him intimately in the film—which is kind of the point since guessing the Joker’s next move is a huge part of The Dark Knight’s narrative.
When it comes to the Joker spinoff, I could say that I’m pretty excited. With the DCEU recently embracing ‘fun’ superhero films like Aquaman and Shazam!, I’m hoping for something more experimental and mature like this movie. I’m crossing my fingers that this film succeeds so we could see more of that in the DCEU moving forward. I mean, Marvel films are fun, but they barely take any risks. What was Captain Marvel’s bold move? That the movie was centered on a woman? Is that really taking something to another level?
Failed comedian Arthur Fleck encounters violent thugs while wandering the streets of Gotham City dressed as a clown. Disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.
