Watch: Star Wars Revenge of the Sith Game Has Alternate Ending Revealing What Happens if Obi-Wan Lost to Anakin

Back in 2005, Lucasarts had released a video game tie-in for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and a lot of people remember it fondly as an action-adventure platformer. What some fans have forgotten though, is that the game comes with alternate endings, and one of them gives us a look at what would have happened if Anakin won the duel on Mustafar.

Check it out:

While it’s disheartening to watch Obi-Wan Kenobi get stabbed, I guess it’s worth it to see Anakin taking out Palpatine. After all, it was his plan to overthrow Palpatine anyway, but with him getting terribly injured after the duel on Mustafar (and losing Padme), he just ended up serving by his side in the end.

I’m curious what else would have happened after this scenario. What happens to Yoda? Would Padme have been able to calm Anakin down? Would she still have died in childbirth? I guess it’s up for the fan forums to speculate.

For now, Hayden Christensen is slowly coming back to the public eye, what with these appearances at Star Wars Celebration and the London Comic-Con. A lot of people are hoping that Lucasfilm has tapped him to make an appearance in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but I guess all we can really do is wait until someone makes an official announcement. I mean, if Palpatine is coming back, I would love for Anakin to as well; I’d take a security hologram of him killing younglings at this point.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
