While Cats was already pretty bad on its own, word had gone out last March that there was a ‘Butthole Cut’ of the film where all the cats had visible anuses. While the existence of the cut has been debunked, a lot of people are still wondering what kind of horror that film would have looked like. Thanks to XVP Comedy on Youtube, we now know.

The edit doesn’t just stop at buttholes either, they VFX artists have went so far to even give the cats visible nipples—just when you thought buttholes were the worst version of this movie.
Just in case you’re wondering, the demand for the Butthole cut had come out when a VFX artist had said that he was hired to work on Cats to digitally remove cat buttholes. The truth of the matter was, while artists were hired to hide genitals, they weren’t intended to be in the movie; rather, they were a glitch in the fur sims that gave the actors visible genitals (like camel toes).
For now, Cats remains to be one of the biggest box office disasters of 2019 (besides the Coronavirus that is). The movie was so reviled that it’s probably going to put a halt to director Tom Hooper’s career for a while. Then again, on the bright side, maybe we can get the cancelled animated version back on track in the next couple of years. If Cats had a medium, it would definitely be animation.
