Probably one of the most consistent descriptions that people have on Shazam! is that it’s basically Tom Hanks’ Big but with Superman, and it seems pretty evident in the trailers. With the movie so close to releasing, Nerdist has released this fun mash-up trailer that has Billy Batson transforming into Tom Hanks from Big—and it’s fantastic.

I have to hand it to editor Matt Caron, he really made a lot of the lines work, and he even found some shots that would transition really well into the actual Shazam! film. With so many comparisons to Big by the cast, I’m expecting there’s going to be at least one reference in the film. What are the odds that we’re going to see Shazam dance on a giant piano?
For now, everyone is excited to see DC’s next romp with Shazam!. It’ll be the first new superhero we have that doesn’t have a member of the Justice League at the center, and it looks like the film will be fully embracing the comedy—much like Guardians of the Galaxy did when it debuted back in 2014.
