Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom finally hit theaters last week, and like every other blockbuster film, it has several Easter Eggs and references to the franchise past. Here with a thorough breakdown is Youtube’s Mr. Sunday Movies.
Since the movie has something to do with transporting dinosaurs out of the island, it would make sense that there would be references to The Lost World—even copying the way in which the dinos are transported.
It’s also revealed that there were hints at the indoraptor way back in the first film, with Vincent D’Onofrio’s character talking about the Indominus Rex, but in a smaller scale.
As if pointing out Easter Eggs wasn’t enough, Mr. Sunday also goes so far as to update us on the possibility of cloning a dinosaur in the present day. As it turns out, the “mosquitoes in amber” solution doesn’t work, and neither does the “preserved dinosaur tail in amber” method. It’s a very interesting breakdown, but the best way to clone a dinosaur is to simply take its modern-day descendant, a chicken, and reverse engineer from that point.
I thought Fallen Kingdom was actually a good bit of fun, and at some point, I liked it more than the first Jurassic World. I could imagine that some longtime fans have scoffed at the movie, but I’m sure there are some kids who will just love this film to bits.
